IsolaB
From the shop owner
Question: What do you do if you are obsessed with all things luxe, glitter, velvet and anything Studio 54 ish? I know start sewing!
I started my creative journey off many moons ago as an illustrator with a strong interest in fashion and textiles. Jump ahead 30 years and IsolaB was born! Isola is my middle name, it means Island in Italian and I knew it would become part of my identity despite disowning it throughout my youth!
I make fearlessly fun hand-sewn and appliquéd fashion and home items, emblazoned with hearts, lightning bolts, love-bombs and flames…not for the feint hearted!
I’m always on the lookout for fabulous fabrics to inspire me. My creative process starts with fabric…the shiner, softer the better, the colours and textures “talk” to me and then I’m ready to stitch in the magic! I’m also always on the lookout for new applique designs…to kitch up new makes! I specialise in purses, cross body bags and clutches, plus the odd beret and cushion to top it all off! Think Studio 54/ Barbra Cartland/ the whole of the 1970s!!!
If it’s standing still I’ll put a tassel on it:)
Why we love
IsolaB
I spotted IsolaB's gorgeous creations at a local Makers Market recently. The cheeky sense of fun and punchy colour combos demand that you stop and take a look. Immediately.
With berets, purses, bags, cushions and hanging decorations (hello Ziggy lightening bolts!) her Etsy page is like an Aladdin's cave of awesomeness. It's the perfect place to find some absolute gifting gems.
