Grain
From the shop owner
With live events all cancelled this year I found myself one of the many who lost my career and income due to the pandemic. I needed to do something new so I decided to turn my hobby into a business and started Grain Reclaimed. I’ve rented an open workshop in Stanmer Park (closed to the public ☹️ at the mo) to create and sell nice things for home and garden using all reclaimed and recycled timber.
I make a range of different pieces so check out my Facebook page to see the things I have created. I’ve been mainly concentrating on making lovely Christmas gifts recently and have designed and built a lovely Reclaimed timber bird house nesting box. The boxes are made to RSPB dimensions with a hole size for smaller garden birds such as blue and coal tits and come with instructions to give it the best chance of becoming inhabited. They are a lovingly crafted quality gift, £25 each or two for £45 with free and safe local delivery to East Brighton, and collection from my home up Elm Grove or my workshop in Stanmer Park. Please visit my marketplace listing for details on how to get hold of one.
Why we love
Grain
Grain's bird boxes are a triumph - reclaimed materials being repurposed to make nesting boxes. I don't think it gets more wholesome. And the craftsmanship is plain to see! A really excellent gift on many, many different levels.
I recommend a browse of Grain's Facebook page too (which can be found by clicking the Instagram icon opposite - confusing, I know, but my website coding skills have their limits!). Here you can see the other fantastic projects Darren has up his sleeve.
