ELLA HALL
From the shop owner
After graduating from my Fashion and Business course in Summer 2020, with the current climate, I was really unsure where to go next. I had just won the Graduate Fashion Foundation YKK Accessories Award for a modular bag piece I had created as an accessory to my collection. I really felt I needed to celebrate this creatively so I decided to experiment making some more commercial bag designs. I had a bunch of fabric and zips spare and decided to make use of them. I started off simply with totes and they became popular amongst friends and family. I then went on to design and create a crossbody style and have been slowly expanding from there.
I now have an Etsy shop where I sell my bags, I mostly work with waterproof canvas and denim, as they have proved most popular. However, I have also created some pure wool pieces, inspired by my graduate collection which featured wool coats. I live in Saltdean with my boyfriend and have a little studio in our flat where I design and sew. Find me on Instagram to stay up to date with new pieces! @e.halldesign
Why we love
ELLA HALL
ELLA HALL bags have a touch of something special about them - so it didn't surprise me when I found out that Ella is an award-winning fashion graduate. I'm not very cool so I don't know how to write about fashion (can I even use the word cool anymore?). All I know is that her designs definitely got my attention.
Using functional materials, her bags are as practical as they are stylish. Ella kindly gifted me one of her gorgeous tote bags and I can happily tell you that this bag is going to feature heavily in my Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter 2021 collections. Slightly oversized (and waterproof), it makes the perfect school-run bag (shh, just don't tell the cool kids). And by buying handmade and locally, it will leave you feeling a lot happier than opting for another helping of fast-fashion. Go you!
